Who is Mystic Marcus?

Marcus is an eight-year-old black micro pig who can predict upcoming sports results, just by choosing from two groups of apples.

He works his magic by picking out an apple from a bunch that have each been labelled with a team name, and whichever one Marcus goes to will be the winner.

Marcus’ owner, Juliette Stevens from Heage, Derbyshire, said: “Mystic Marcus has so far never ever been wrong in his predictions of top sporting events, including Wimbledon and the football World Cup.

“He has a lovely chilled out personality and has produced some lovely piglets.”

She said the process of choosing apples for Marcus to decide between is "very scientific".

Juliette said she makes sure the apples are identical for the sake of accuracy.

She said: “This is where it gets very scientific; I get two apples, the same variety, size and colour.

"It’s very strict.”

What is Marcus' World Cup 2018 England and Croatia semi-final prediction?

Previously, Marcus correctly predicted England would beat Colombia on July 3 in a live segment on This Morning.

On July 11, Mystic Marcus built up the nation's hopes as he revealed his prophecy that England will beat Croatia in the World Cup 2018 semi-final in a segment live on ITV's This Morning.

Unfortunately, Marcus' insight was a little flawed, as England experienced an agonising defeat against Croatia in Russia.
