World Cup betting: Cristiano Ronaldo backed to play for Portugal at 2022 finals aged 37
Juventus' £99m new boy is 4/6 to grace Qatar in four years' time and 8/11 to finish next term as the top scorer in Serie A
CRISTIANO RONALDO is refusing to wind down his Portugal career despite a £500,000-a-week-deal with Juventus.
The 33-year-old seems keen to extend his international career beyond 85 goals in 154 games and is 4/6 with to play at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Ronaldo left Real Madrid last week for £99million after 450 goals in nine years.
That included 44 strikes in as many games last term.
And he is 8/11 to be top scorer in his first season of Serie A football.
Once again, but this time from further afield, he should have an intriguing duel for goals with Barcelona maestro Lionel Messi.
Ronaldo is 5/4 to outscore the 31-year-old Argentine next term.
Former Sporting Lisbon hero Ronaldo is also 6/1 to net against Real and 7/1 to score against his other old club, Manchester United.
’s Alan Alger said: “Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Juventus is next the chapter in an incredible career which has seen him score almost 600 goals and win the Ballon d’Or five times.
“He was in superb form for Portugal during the World Cup, notching four goals including a fantastic hat-trick against Spain.
"And at 4/6, we fancy him to play on until Qatar 2022, even though he’ll be 37 by then.
“Ciro Immobile topped the Serie A scoring charts last season with 29 goals and surely Ronaldo will be gunning for that.
"And with Juventus’ dominance in Italy, he’s 8/11 to pick up the league’s Golden Boot.”
