DONALD TRUMP congratulated France after they beat Croatia in the World Cup final.
Tributes poured in on Twitter after Didier Deschamps' side triumphed 4-2 to claim the title for the second time in history.
The President of America shared the message with his 53.1 million followers, but some were furious that he used the term soccer instead of football.
Trump said: "Congratulations to France, who played extraordinary soccer, on winning the 2018 World Cup.
"Additionally, congratulations to President Putin and Russia for putting on a truly great World Cup Tournament -- one of the best ever!"
France's performance was praised by a number of stars, including German midfielder Mesut Ozil and The Rock.
The Arsenal ace said: "Congratulations France! Enjoy this evening! #WorldCup"
Dwayne Johnson, also known as The Rock, added: "Congratulations France!!! What an inspiring and well earned for the team and country. And huge respect to Croatia as well.
"You'll comeback stronger. Enjoy the win France!!"
And fans even edited the iconic image of the Mona Lisa to show her wearing a France jersey.
UFC legend Conor McGregor shared a photograph of himself in the stadium, with the caption: "Enjoying the World Cup final in Russia. A truly amazing spectacle."
Pop legend Shakira said: "Congratulations France for making history and to Croatia for an amazing tournament."
Even designer brand Louis Vutton got involved to congratulate Les Bleus on their emphatic win.
France won 4-2 after goals from Antoine Griezmann, Paul Pogba, Kylian Mbappe followed a Mario Mandzukic own goal.
Earlier in the match, play was delayed after four members of feminist punk band Pussy Riot invaded the pitch.
