UK weather forecast – Saharan plume to spark 26C Indian summer after Hurricane Dorian brings rain and wind
ONE of the hottest autumns for a century could be on the cards for the UK.
The UK should brace itself for another period of warm weather following a battering of wind and rain from Hurricane Dorian.

The mercury could soar back up, hitting heights of 26C as a plume of Saharan air follows the fallout from Dorian.
Forecaster Brian Gaze said: “Computer forecast models support the three-month period ahead being among the warmest on record.
INDIAN SUMMER
“Indian summer-like settled and sunny weather is forecast to start in a week’s time, lasting a week or more and seeing highs
up to 26C.
“High pressure is expected to bring a southerly feed, with heat arriving from southern Europe and north Africa.
“The pattern of Saharan heat coming to the UK was big feature of summer this year, and is expected to repeat again.” The high pressure is to bring blue skies for many, with weeks of settled weather.
And further sunny spells are due into October, according to forecaster John Hammond of Weathertrending.
He revealed: “Temperatures well into the 20s are quite feasible after September 16.
“It could well become quite warm. There are indications high pressure will build.
“And September 23 to October 6 favours some lengthy and pleasant spells of sunshine.”
BATTERED BY WINDS
The good news comes after deadly Hurricane Dorian will merge with Tropical Storm Gabrielle to batter Britain in the next few days with 70mph wind and 2ins rain.
A back-to-school buffeting will see Dorian's remnants strike on Tuesday and Wednesday after hammering the Bahamas and North America.
It will also merge with storm Gabrielle and bring further gusts and deluges on Thursday and Friday after spinning past the Azores.

The Met Office forecasts the tail-end of Dorian bringing gusts of 50mph in the North and 35mph in the South.
Localised flooding is expected in parts as heavy rain strikes - with up to two inches predicted in areas of Scotland.
However, today sees a "fine, day with sunny spells" a spokesperson for the Met Office said.
Today will see average temperatures for this time of year, with the mercury hovering at around 18 to 19C in the South and around 14C up towards Scotland.

By the end of the weekend, Northern Ireland and Scotland will see some cloud and rain, with the West of England drenched by the beginning of the week.
Rainclouds from the west will spread over much of the country and Monday will be very different to today's weather with lots of wind and rain as the Dorian and Gabrielle team up.
