Furious fans brand Dancing On Ice ‘a fix’ as Perri Shakes-Drayton is given the boot after Lemar survives his THIRD skate-off
Tonight's show was packed with emotional moments and spectacular skating as Kem Cetinay and Jake Quickenden remain hot favourites to win
DANCING On Ice's Perri Shakes-Drayton was given the boot tonight after a dramatic dance-off with Lemar - and her exit has prompted furious fans to brand the show "a fix".
The athlete is the latest star to leave the show as Kem Cetinay and Jake Quickenden remain hot favourites to win.
Tonight's show was packed with emotional moments and spectacular skating which ended with a tense final dance for track legend Perri and pop star Lemar.
Perri was eventually given the boot after all the judges voted to save Lemar instead.
All four panel members decided to keep the singer even though it was his third time in the bottom two.
Perri, who scored 19.5, voiced her disappointed, but did not let her early exit get her down.
She said of her exit: "I was enjoying it, I wasn't ready to go home. Unfortunately Lemar was the better skater today, so Lemar stays!"
However, many fans were left furious and some even called the show a "fix" for saving Lemar for a third time after his two previous appearance in the skate-off.
One tweeted: "Is this show now a fix? Last week they judged on the first performance for Lemar not his skate off, and now he’s been saved again when Perri is the stronger skater! Not impressed..."
Another added: "How has lamar got through AGAIN! it’s a fix, perri was way better #DancingOnIce."
A third wrote: "What a fix, last week Lemar was saved even though he slipped because he’s the “stronger skater overall”, but this week he is saved because they can “only go on the skate off dance”. 😡 #DancingOnIce."
Another angry fan tweeted: "#DancingOnIce. Lamar through again. Total fix. This series is rubbish."
Tonight's show was ruled by the boys - Kem and Jake topped the leaderboard with joint scores of 27.5.
They both impressed the judges for another week and wowed fans with their spectacular skates.
Kem even managed to impress host Holly Willoughby, who looked radiant in a long white dress.
The TV star admitted she was overwhelmed with emotion as she watched Kem skate to Sam Smith's Stay With Me in a romantic routine with partner Alex Murphy.
Jake, who is tipped to rival Kem for the DOI crown, skated to Are You Going To Be My Girl by Jet.
There was also high drama for rugby star Max Evans, whose Dancing On Ice partner Ale Izquierdo bounced back from a horrifying fall to impress the judges just 24 hours after her hospital dash.
The rugby player suffered a sleepless night after dropping Ale during rehearsals yesterday but they made a spectacular comeback tonight and landed a respectable score of 22.5.
They performed to Dancing On The Ceiling.
Brooke Vincent skated to Instruction by Jack Jones and she wore a head-turning black and white striped jumpsuit for the routine, which earned her a 17.5.
Judge Christopher Dean was booed by the audience as he awarded a low score of 5.5 to Donna Air and Mark Hanretty, but the pair still received a respectable score of 23.5 - the same as last week.
Alex Beresford danced to The Temptations' My Girl, landing a solid 22.5, and Antony Cotton improved from week by landing a score of 20 after a routine set to Fleetwood Mac's Songbird.
Cheryl Baker also improved, landing her highest score yet - a 16 - for performing to Arethra Franklin's Respect.
